Our biogas desulfurization solution is a two-component liquid system — a Complexing Agent and an Oxidation Catalyst — engineered for continuous wet scrubbing of hydrogen sulfide from biogas. Together, they deliver superior H₂S removal performance for large-scale biogas plants, biomethane upgrading facilities, and landfill gas operations where dry media systems may not be economical or practical.

Component A — Complexing Agent (Iron Chelate Solution)

The complexing agent is an aqueous iron chelate solution that serves as the primary H₂S absorber in the scrubbing loop. In the scrubber tower, gaseous H₂S contacts the circulating liquid and reacts with chelated ferric iron (Fe³⁺), which oxidizes the sulfide to elemental sulfur while the iron is reduced to Fe²⁺. The chelate ligand keeps iron in solution across the working pH range (7–9.5), preventing precipitation and ensuring continuous, uninterrupted absorption capacity.

Key features: high iron loading, stable performance across pH 7–9.5, compatibility with packed towers, spray towers, and venturi scrubbers, and minimal foaming.

Component B — Catalyst (Oxidation Catalyst Solution)

The catalyst is added in small quantities to the scrubbing solution to accelerate the re-oxidation of reduced iron (Fe²⁺ → Fe³⁺) using dissolved oxygen from air injection into the oxidation tank. This regeneration step is the heart of a closed-loop, continuous system.

Without effective catalysis, air oxidation of Fe²⁺ is slow, requires excessive aeration, and leads to rapid degradation of the chelate ligand — significantly increasing operating costs. Our proprietary catalyst accelerates the oxidation reaction by 3–5×, dramatically reducing air consumption, extending solution life, and improving overall system economics. Dosing rate is low (0.5–2.0% v/v), making it cost-effective even for large circulating volumes.
